Mother Crow and the Snake
Once upon a time, a mother crow made her home in a large tree. In a hole within the same tree lived a cruel, heartless snake. The kind crow tried to befriend the snake, but it refused. Days passed, and while the mother crow was away in search of food, the wicked snake crept into her nest and devoured all her innocent chicks. When the crow returned and discovered the heartbreaking scene, she was overcome with sorrow and anger. Determined to take revenge, she devised a clever plan.
The next day, the crow flew into the royal palace and snatched a precious necklace belonging to the princess. With the glittering ornament in her beak, she soared back to the tree and deliberately dropped it into the snake’s hole. The royal guards, chasing after the thief, followed the crow to the tree. Spotting the lost necklace inside the snake’s lair, they swiftly killed the treacherous creature to retrieve the jewel. At last, the clever mother crow avenged her young ones and freed the tree from its cruel enemy.
Moral: Tit for tat.
